CropSafe is a fully remote team passionate about digitally enhancing the farming experience.
When unexpected weather hits, all your hard work goes down the gutter. Many families suffer as a result of having their income for the year quartered. Growing up in farming families, we know this too well.
We believe the solution to the volatility of farming revenue, is building specialised farming software.
Back breaking labour, high interest rates and overproduction mean that farming is unsustainable socially, economically and environmentally. We want to use technology to help you asses problems and opportunities on your farm to make your operation more sustainble.
Get dollar backs and rewards that help you spend more without burning through your funds
Get cash and the and rewards that help you spend more without burning through your funds
Right now, digitally optimizing how you manage your farm's operations is highly time-consuming. You're required to constantly monitor dozens of metrics like weather, field, and financials - all while keeping track of day-to-day jobs.
At CropSafe, we are building the connected farm operating system which allows you to control everything happening on your farm in one place. CropSafe empowers you with more insights than previously possible, allowing growers like you, all across the world, to produce more efficiently - with less.
We believe growers shouldn't spend their precious time organizing Excel sheets with dozens of pages, or satellite maps with 50 variables. Interpreting and taking action on data should be seamless, quick, and painless.
Our mission is simple: Clearly explain any problem on your farm; Pinpoint where it's happening; Let you know what you need to do next to maintain a sustainable and profitable farm.
- John McElhone & Micheal McLaughlin
CropSafe Founders
Our team mates are spread across Los Angeles, London, Cambridge & Belfast.
Hi all, I'm John and I am from Ireland! I grew up on a small farm alongside a few chickens, sheep and the friendliest donkey you'd ever meet. I went to school alongside, Micheál, my-founder who joined me in starting CropSafe. Our collective vision is to optimise the farming processes we are accustomed to seeing every day out on the farm!
My role within CropSafe involves making sure our rocket ship is in track and we're making progress as fast and efficient as possible. I started CropSafe with the hopes to bring simplicity and ease to the crop surveying process, making life for farmers all over the world a little bit easier. While we're not there yet, we've set our goals high and we're ploughing forward.
My name is Micheál and I grew up on a small farm, in rural Ireland. On our mixed farm, we reared cattle and also grew different crops like potatoes, wheat, barley, grass for grazing and Silage.
My love of technology and programming was sparked by studying software engineering at university. I have always loved building websites/apps in my free time. John and I met at school and we had worked on many different ventures together before founding CropSafe.
Our interests in programming, satellite data and familial backgrounds in farming led us to the idea for Cropsafe. We knew we were the right people to tackle the problem of helping farmers make the best decisions on the farm with their data.
At CropSafe I work with our farmers by analysing feedback, this allows us to adapt to their needs and bring on new types of clients. In addition I oversee work on feedback loops, distribution, sales and more with the CropSafe team.
Hi, I'm Ciaran and I'm a software developer from Lavey, currently working from Belfast. I am two years into a university degree in Software Engineering and am working as a placement student alongside my work for CropSafe.
I really enjoy the problem-solving aspect of working in software as well as being able to build out the team's ideas into working features and products! Along with helping with the main app, I work primarily as a web application developer for CropSafe by building dashboards for both the team and for distributors.
I would love to see CropSafe become a household name for farmers across the world, with our services acting as a one-stop shop for our clients.
